The label Fine Tune Records says “Afreekah reflects the origins of Steve Pottz’s music with the sounds of Africa. A pulsing drone underpins the bottom end, with tribal voices and glitched percussion & djembes combining to invoke a Sub-Saharan sunrise. A syncopated bass line takes over the lead groove.”
